Combine Subsets

These instructions describe how to combine multiples subsets into a single subset. For instructions on how to Create a Subset click here.

From the RMCDS Main Menu click on Subsets > Combine.

This will bring up the Combine Subsets and Delete Duplicates window.

In the box labeled Subset to be combined to: enter the name of the destination subset. A new subset by this name will be created containing all cases from each subset that you combine to it.

In the box labeled #1) Subset to be combined to above subset: Enter the name of the first subset that you would like to add to your destination subset. You can click on the Browse button to select an existing subset from a list instead of typing the name in.

It is possible for a case to be in more than one subset. If you wish to have any possible duplicate case occurrence removed, leaving only one occurrence of each case in the final subset, check the box labeled Remove Duplicate Cases.

Click on the Combine button to merge the two subsets. After the two subsets have been combined, you will see a message window indicating the names of the two subsets that were combined and the number of duplicate cases that were removed.

Click on OK to close this message window and return to the Combine Subsets window. Notice that the second box now has the label #2) Subset to be combined to above subset:. Continue to enter the names of the subsets that you want to have combined, clicking on the Combine button each time, until you have merged all the subsets that you want into the new subset.

Once you have finished adding all desired subsets, click on the Cancel button to close the Combine Subsets window and return to the Main Menu.
